Water may be substituted with apple juice, apple cider or cranberry juice and heated for a warm fruity citrus hot beverage. Why is it called Russian Tea?This warm citrus, spice tea blend is truly a southern favorite, particularly around the holidays. Traditionally, referred to as Russian Tea when in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, upper-class Russians would drink black tea with lemon and sugar, before becoming a Southern holiday staple.
