    Description

I can only speculate but it appears to be either an in house made watchman's station or a company making this type of station with off the shelf Westclox alarms around 1920. The hinged case is cast iron with the hinge spring loaded to keep the clock against the wall. There is a lever on the side that appears to make a simple contact when held down and then release. I assume that would ring a bell or light a light somewhere to record or show that the watchman had passed that station. The watchman most likely had to note the time. The cast iron case makes me believe this was made in a cast iron foundry for use in that foundry as a bootstrap operation rather then buying something like Detex watchman clocks.
It does not run due to a broken mainspring but sounds like it would with a new spring or perhaps just the outside hole renewed in that spring and oiling but that is only a guess. Sold as is.
